I was recently invited to AQ AQ’s launch previously know as Aqua by Aqua  to see the rebranding and new seasons collection. This was hosted at their Carnaby Street store, it was a red carpet event and full of bright colours and digital prints.

 

 

Laura Whitmore Dj’d the whole night wearing one of the new seasons jumpsuits, currently available online.

 

 

Mollie King from The Saturdays look stunning in red! What a statement dress and also available online! 

 

This seasons we see reds, neons and bold strong colours mixed with prints and darings cuts. They have a sexual leotard which can we worn as swimwear or as a top, it’s fierce and has a high cut leg and low cut back. 

 

I want so much menswear it’s worrying, it’s full of digital prints and i love an oversized tee with my hair up for a day look. The men’s store is at the other end of Carnaby street. 

 

This season Scott Wilson has taken his statement pieces to a new extreme. Bold, gold and ‘in yo face’ the statement piece of the season.

Love love love my new Scott Wilson Ring that I got at the press event, I wore on the plane to the US and I have had so many compliments!

Flower Power

I am slightly obsessed with my new flower headband it’s pretty, pink and from Primark! I was sceptical about wearing it today but thought … hey why not, it’s sunny and I can be boho chic while I shop. We need to start bringing out our summer wardrobes this week as it’s going to be warm in London… and warm to the UK is about 20’c (sad times)!

In two weeks my brother will be getting married, I am frantically trying to get an outfit (multiple options) and figure out what make up and hair I should have so over the next few weeks keep your eyes peeled … there will be a lot of wedding prep tutorials and make up tips!

Spring in my Step

Finally we have some nice weather in London and I had a quick rummage through my summer wardrobe and found my favourite maxi dress from last year! It’s bright, vibrant and makes me happy… colours have an affect on my mood so when the sun is shining I will be wearing the brightest colours possible… if not you will find me in black!

My dress is from H&M (last year) and my jewellery is from ASOS (currently online)… I am feeling a bit weird today but I believe that when life gives you lemons… make the best damn lemonade you can! Remember that everything happens for a reason and we are always learning, my mum tells me to this day that she still has life lessons to learn! Smile… live your life and focus on you!

Live Your Life … it’s not a rehearsal

We spend so much time stressing about doing this and that … we forget to enjoy each day and to just live! Stop stressing… smile… laugh.. cry… scream… whatever it is but enjoy every moment! Absorb the world around you and explore something new! Do something new this week… stop procrastinating and just do! Nothing has to be perfect… forget the plan and just do! Don’t be scared… dive in head first and enjoy it… you may succeed … it might not go to plan but you would never know if you don’t try! Everything happens for a reason.. smile…… and kick sadness in the face!

A Tourist in my Own Town

Dedicated to My Isha ….

This weekend I have managed to see London in a completely different light, I walked all over the city, through parks and popped to the zoo! Next time you have a day off, go and take a walk around London but go through the back streets! Take your camera and look up, as a Londoner I am always in a rush…. when you actually look at the architecture  around you everything seems different or new! Open your eyes and see things from a new angle! Check out my colourful weekend at the Zoo…. I honestly felt like a child…. when was the last time you went to the zoo?

Recently I have seen a new side of life… yes I still love fashion, style, beauty products and that glitters but I feel like I have found a new respect for the natural world! Going to zoo, walking everywhere in London and seeing things from a different perspective have recently blown my mind away! I have found my ‘happy place’ within my own mind and I am enjoying life every step of the way…. even when I fall!

I am really starting to appreciate life….. I hope you are too! You are amazing and don’t forget to surround yourself with positive people!

A Pink Affair

I attended a beautiful baby shower for my best friends sister over the weekend and the theme was pink… she is having a baby girl within the next few weeks and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome another baby into the family! I have never attended a baby shower before it was a new exicitng experience for everyone… I am not at the stage were I want a baby but I am so excited for my friend! 

The theme was pink so I had a rummage through my wardrobe and found my cute pink dress that I bought last year from Zara, I initially got this for my cousins wedding but decided to wear the dress as a skirt and revamp it with a new top. I cleverly tucked in my t-shirt to make it look like a crop top and carrie like skirt!

My top is from Primark and only cost me £10… I was initially trying to go for a Celine oversized t shirt with the cute sticky out pink skirt but thought the digital print would have a better effect! I got my Shoes from Zara last year, but I always feel that everything from Zara is an investment piece…. well for me anyway!

I am a sucker for a pink theme….. it was so beautiful to see everyone in different shades and the mother to be looked amazing! We had games.. a drag queen… a magician….lots of food and a crepe stand! What an amazing event to welcome the new baby into world…. only a few weeks to go!

Green Day NYC – OOTD

My love affair with New York is nearly over and I am now contemplating wether to move there…. I never thought I would ever feel the urge to relocate but I am seriously considering moving there for 6-12 months because I can’t get enough of the city and vibe.

The concrete jungle is full of wild and interesting people with this buzzing nature and cute shops and there is defiantly something for everyone. If you love food as much as I do you will defiantly have an amazing time…. the selection is ridiculous and I feel like I have gained 50 pounds! Besides the buzzing hustle and bustle of the town the nightlife is on fire, I have ventured between 3-4 clubs per night including quite a few cool roof top bars. If you haven’t been you need to go and go with a New Yorker….. Time Square is over populated and if you are from Londoner it’s just like Piccadilly Circus… you need to go to the meatpacking district which is full of cool restaurants and and full of clubs and bars. We popped into Bagatelle the other day randomly for a day party…. I was wearing the below outfit and then we popped into a roof top bar for shisha and drinks. The vibe of NYC is chilled and literally is the city that never sleeps.

In soho we found this amazing piece of jewellery…. how beautiful is this? This whole outfit is green… I think its great to wear a variety of shades of the same colour….. you can always dress blocked coloured up and down. As we were shopping I thought converse were the best bet.

We met a crazy man who made this bike himself…. we thought he was joking and then he cycled off on this! This is what I love about NYC it doesn’t matter about class, race, how much money you have or what you do… everyone is pretty friendly and happy!

LFW Street Style… Day 2

 

 

London Fashion Week is one of the best events of the year, firstly it lasts for a week… secondly it forecasts the trends for the next season and my favourite reason of all is that the creative minds of the fashion industry are congregated together in the middle of London. Bloggers, designers, models, fashionistas, stylists, photographers and the rest….  if you have any interest in fashion, hang around Somerset House for a few hours and your perception of what ‘fashion’ is should change.

They say a picture can say a thousand words, I could try and explain the buzz and atmosphere but you should try and experience this in person. Rules are thrown out the window, there are no boundaries (well don’t turn up in your birthday suit), clashing prints, coloured hair, neon clutches, capes, drag queens, glitter eyebrows….. It’s exciting to see what people are coming up with, the most influential people in fashion are standing around queuing for shows.

I salute all of the individuals who have their own unique style, don’t be a sheep and follow everyone else …..try something new…. you never know it could actually suit you! This ss13 we will be seeing lots of vibrant neons, double prints and lots of monochrome. An oriental twist of fabrics and cuts will influence this up and coming season so explore and invest in something new.

I hope this street style inspires you to try something new!
